History with our Shea butter started 30 years ago when Mr. Sing come to Uganda. He started oil press production from local seeds. But when he saw miraculous way how to produce shea butter from nuts he fall in love and started to find the ways how to build shea butter factory and bring this wonderful product to the whole world in highest absolutely pure and organic quality.
In Lira near Sudan border where not long ego Josepg Kony with his Lord's Resistance Army was terrorizing local community and murdering many people. Surjit Singh started even though this situation new Shea project and helped local to survive hard times. Till now he is helping local people to have better life, giving education to children and supporting community many other ways.
Shea Tree - tree of Life
Shea tree dubbed as African gold is considered to be a mysterious plant. It only grows on the savannas in central and north-western Africa and cannot be artificially planted. After 15 years of its life it gives fruit every three years and lives for over than 200 years. The trees bear nuts with a shell hiding a kernel, from which the shea butter is extracted. It is this irremovable fatty acid that gives Shea Butter its unique healing properties and makes it far superior to cocoa butter and other vegetable butters.
Shea tree fruits ripen during a short period from April to June, when they are hand-picked by local women. Nut flesh has a high nutritional value and is an important source of nutrients, vitamins and minerals during so-called hungry season, when food is scarce.
